SPI Health and Safety and Threads of Life renew partnership

4/1/2019 - SPI

For SPI Health and Safety, there are many reasons to be involved in Steps for Life – Walking for Families of Workplace Tragedy. Every year in Canada, close to 1000 workers die as a result of their jobs – either through sudden traumatic injury or an occupational disease. Thousands more are gravely injured. That is a thousand reasons – and more – why SPI decided to become a national sponsor of Steps for Life.

Steps for Life is a fundraiser for Threads of Life, a Canadian charity which provides peer support programs for people in the aftermath of a work-related tragedy, and brings the families’ voices to the call for prevention.

As a national sponsor for the second time in 2019, SPI’s commitment means more families will have access to Threads of Life’s programs and services, which help them to heal and develop healthy coping skills to deal with the devastating changes brought by workplace tragedy.

Threads of Life and SPI share a vision of a world in which life matters most and workplace tragedies are eliminated.

“As our mission is to be the most valuable partner for companies that value health and safety in their work environment, our partnership with Threads of Life is as natural as necessary. We are proud to contribute to the success of an organization that aims to prevent workplace fatalities, injuries and illnesses, while helping those who are still victims today” says SPI President, Martin Tremblay.

Founded in 1972, SPI Health and Safety is a Canadian leader in occupational health and safety products and services. SPI offers both complete and specialized solutions, which encompass product distribution, fire protection services, technical services, and consulting and training.
