Breathing Air Compressors and CylindersWe inspect, clean, maintain, and refill breathing air cylinders:
- Refilling of SCBA (self-contained breathing apparatus) and SCUBA (self-contained underwater breathing apparatus) cylinders
- Visual inspection of cylinder interiors to detect traces of bacteria, fungus, dirt, corrosion, etc.
- Cleaning by cylinder rolling: This service allows complete cleaning of cylinders to eliminate contaminants that can affect air quality in the cylinders.
- “Visual Plus” inspection: verification of cylinder threads and shoulders to detect any cracking
- High pressure hydrostatic testing at a frequency based on manufacturer specifications
- Air test of low pressure compressors for the air breathed in facilities
Inspection and Cleaning of Respiratory EquipmentRespirator testing and maintenance is an essential part of any respiratory protection program. Maintenance must comply with OSHA standard 29 CFR 1910.139 and CSA standard Z94.4. Our respiratory equipment services include cleaning, inspection, repair, and calibration as well as registration of the following respiratory protection equipment:
- Half-mask and full-face respirators
- Compressed-air breathing apparatus
- Self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA)
Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) CalibrationBreathing apparatus testing and maintenance is an essential part of any respiratory breathing program. Maintenance must be carried out in compliance with OSHA standard 29 CFR 1910.139 and CSA standard Z94.4. The following tests will be carried out on your breathing apparatus to ensure compliance with all NFPA 1852 and CSA Z94.4 requirements:
- Mask leak checks
- Exhalation check valve opening pressure
- Static mask pressure
- Flow testing
- Pressure gauge accuracy
- Low pressure alarm test
- Performance of primary regulators
- Breathing resistance at standard and maximum flows
Qualitative and Quantitative Fit Testing Qualitative (EAQL) and quantitative (EAQN) fit testing makes it possible to select the appropriate type, model, and size. It also allows evaluation of users’ ability to properly adjust facepieces. Annual fit testing is recommended for every user to ensure proper respiratory protection as required by CSA standard Z94.4. Fit testing notes must be entered in the register.
